Installing and using it offline
Install the DAW like an app straight from your browser, and it keeps working with no network at all after that - a reload with the network off still loads your last session.
What signing in actually does today
Honest note
The free tier is the complete local DAW, with no account required for any of it. Signing in creates an account for what's coming next - cloud project sync and paid extras aren't built yet, so there's nothing gated behind an account today.
Browser support
A Chromium-based browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave and similar) is the full-experience platform. Web MIDI, used for a real hardware controller, doesn't reach Safari or iOS at all - the on-screen keyboard and drum pad grid cover playing with no hardware everywhere, regardless of browser.
