Recording and tracks

Every track can be armed, muted and soloed independently, whether it holds audio or MIDI.

Live looping

Recording onto an armed track loops continuously while the transport plays, so you can build up a part by overdubbing on top of what's already there - the live-looping workflow the DAW started from.

Multi-take comping

On an instrument track, turn on "New take mode" before recording again over an existing clip: instead of merging straight into it, your current notes are archived as a take and you start fresh. Restore any earlier take afterwards, undoable like every other edit. This is MIDI only today - audio tracks don't have an equivalent take-archive step yet.

Punch in and out

On an instrument track, turn on punch in/out and set a beat range: a normal recording pass is trimmed at commit time to only the notes captured inside that window. This is also instrument-track only for now.

Metronome and count-in

An audible click plays during count-in and, if you want it, through playback and recording too.
